Well Drilling Project for Clean Water and Energy
We are so excited to be in partnership with East Africa Energy Solutions (EAES) as they begin the process of introducing clean water and energy into the Uganda community. This project is taking place in Kakooge, Nakasongola District at the Ektangaala Transformation High School, where over 700 students and faculty attend. EAES will be leading a team this fall/winter 2021 in professionally drilling a well at the high school to help make this goal a reality. As a church, we raised $20,000 to support this project, and we are so thankful to the Lord for helping provide for this need. Please continue to pray for this project, and for the leaders, students, and families affiliated with Ektandaala Transformation School. Thank you again for responding to and helping us help meet this need with your great generosity and prayers.
Below are some photos of the progress being made on this project. Continued updates will be posted as we receive them, so be sure to check back weekly to see how the project is developing!
On November 20th, East Africa Energy Solution’s water Engineer lead his team in conducting a Hydrogeological survey to locate good underground water potential.
A hydro survey is the first phase in the Well drilling process. Once identified, they begin the drilling process, which can go up to 75m deep.
Here the drilling team is assembling their drilling equipment to start the drilling process once they receive the go-ahead.
As of November 26th, 2021 they have confirmed a good well drilling location and have begun the drilling process. They made it to 30m then were stopped by a large rock. This slowed down the pace a little, but they are still working and moving with steady progress!
Below is a short video of the well being drilled!
On December 3rd, 2021 they began a water pump test.
This is a standard procedure to know how much water will be pumped per hour and do lab tests to make sure the water is safe for drinking.
The pump test results went great, the water is clean and there is enough steady flow to fill the 10,000-liter tank every day.
On Jan 8th they installed the Water Tower & tank at Ekitangaala Transformation High. The water tower supports the tank where water is stored.
Helping Support Casa de Bendicion
Our church has partnered with mission’s organization Casa de Bendicion in Bachiniva Mexico as we support their orphanage housing numerous children in need. There are an estimated 150 million orphans throughout the world, 10 million of those are located in Mexico. Whether these children have been abandoned neglected, abused, or just need hope— Casa de Bendicion’s desire is to see their lives forever changed through the love of Jesus. This organization provides these children with food, clothes, private tutoring, medical assistance, biblical training, and love—which most of them have not seen before.
Their staff is made up of Christian men and women, both from Mexico and from the United States, who devote their lives to loving and caring for these children. Their desire, above anything else, is to bring these children up in the “training and admonition of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). To find out more about this organization and the leaders that oversee Casa de Bendicion, please visit Thehouseofblessing.org.
As a part of this partnership, our church sends teams and financial support to the orphanage. During our most recent trip, our team was able to build and improve many areas around the orphanage including a new laying of concrete for their sidewalks, a new basketball court, the construction of a new building for food and drinks around the orphanage, helped organize and deep clean the children’s rooms and dining areas, as well as prepared home-cooked meals for the orphanage staff and children (photos below). We were so thankful for the opportunity to go serve at Casa de Bendicion and we look forward to sending another team there soon!
